Exhibition - Curation - Production
February 2024TOKYOSAÏ, pronounced "saï" [祭] meaning festival, is an interdisciplinary art festival curated by a dedicated team of Franco-Japanese enthusiasts. The event seamlessly blends contemporary art, design, digital art, music, and culinary exploration to immerse visitors in the vibrant Japanese artistic scene. In its inaugural edition, TOKYOSAÏ aimed to spotlight both emerging and established artists through captivating installations.
The festival's mission included showcasing a diverse range of artists, ensuring gender parity and accurately reflecting Tokyo's current artistic landscape. Featured artworks drew inspiration from tradition, exploring techniques like kimekomi, reinterpretation of Japanese prints, and manga, while others embraced ultra-modernity with digital creations, even venturing into the realm of video games. Each carefully curated piece in TOKYOSAÏ aimed to deliver a meaningful artistic experience, capturing the dynamic creative spirit that defines the Japanese capital.
